Colin Simmons

Colin Simmons is an actor, singer, and creator currently based in Toronto. A proud Theatre Orangeville Academy alumni, he last appeared on the main stage in Little Women, and prior to that directed A Midsummer Night's Dream. He's excited to return to Theatre Orangeville in this new capacity.

As an actor — Theatre: Shakespeare in Love, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (Stratford Festival); Little Women (Theatre Orangeville); The Rocky Horror Show (Magnus Theatre); Gift of the Magi, Pride & Joy (Smile Theatre); Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play (Outside the March). Animation: Jetman Jones in Hero Elementary (PBS / Portfolio Entertainment); Pako in Koati (Upstairs FX-TV); Drama Llama in Hailey and the Hero Hearts (Epic Story Media); Sir Wrench-a-Lot in Kingdom Builders (Little Blackstone). TV: Anne with an “E” (CBC/Netflix).

As a writer — Jingle Belles (Smile Theatre), Dorian Drew.

As a director — Jingle Belles, Country Roads (Smile Theatre); Radium Girls (Mayfield S.S.); The Preposterous Predicament of Polly Peel (assistant director, Toronto Fringe Festival); A Midsummer Night's Dream, Boys, Girls, and Other Mythological Creatures (Theatre Orangeville); Romeo & Juliet, Alice in Wonderland (Theatre Orangeville Young Company).

Awards — Stratford’s “Dora Mavor Moore” Guthrie Award, Musical Stage Company’s Banks Prize for Emerging Musical Theatre Artists.
